Hi, I am Edo Autopiesis, In real-life, Luna, Jonathan, Roel and I get together every tuesday at Luna's kitchen table to work on the conditional design manifesto and to do small, related workshops. Today we logged in to Second Life for one of our small workshops. We wanted to make a 3-dimensional diagram which organizes proces-based works according to some of their most important characteristics. Maybe we can find some new relationships between those works. Let me show you the diagram. Now, let me explain: As you can see the diagram is filled with small cubes. Each cube represents a process-based work: You can see the name and a picture of that work, and if you want, you can click on it to get more, detailed information about the project. The position of each project depends on 3 important characteristics represented by the red, green and blue axis. The red axis shows whether the process works all on its own, without any external influence, or whether there is a lot of external influence which changes the way the process behaves. The blue axis shows whether the project visualizes a process that is already existing or whether it creates a new, previously non-existing process. And the green axis shows how the work is presented: Can a visitor, or user of the work see the process in action, or does it show a fixed, final end-product that is a result of the process. And by the way: Many of the projects are works of our own, but we also included some works made by others that we think are well done or good examples. So, can we find some new relationships between these projects? Well, we can see what kind of projects share similarities - because they are close together - even though they might seem very different in appearance. Or, one can see what kind of projects we make a lot, or like a lot. And, I think for further development, we might also improve this diagram so that we can easily see which works are made by one person, or we could show in what order in history the projects were realized. You can visit this diagram yourself inside Second Life. Just go to the following SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Gembong%20West/7/12/1199
